November Village Market
Remember, remember! Our popular monthly market promises a superb shopping experience with a great variety of stallholders on The Green and a chance to visit our local shops and retailers, too.
This month’s Ruddington Village Market is on Guy Fawkes Day; Saturday 5th November is expected to have over seventy-five traders on The Green from 9.00am until 12.30pm.
The full list of this month’s visiting retailers – with their corresponding stall numbers on the map – is shown below:
The monthly market is a project of the award winning Ruddington Village Community Partnership (RVCP). The market has grown in many ways: initiatives include a Young Entrepreneurs’ Programme (to mentor 16 to 30 year olds into market stall businesses) a partnership with the Trent Bridge Trust’s YouNG Project (to offer under 16s the chance to trade), an electrical repair service in tandem with Illumination Repairs CIC, and locals can ask about the village by visiting Ruddington Parish Council‘s tent. Councillors welcome your ideas or concerns for the local area, and can tell you more about what’s coming up in Ruddington.
This month RVCP’s ‘Charity of the Month’ at Stall 59 is the RSPB. See Stall 68A as “Pom Poms For Alfie will be selling hanging Christmas decorations whilst raising money for MECP2 Duplication Research Fund at Reverse Rett and Ruddington District GirlGuiding (Stall 60) will be there, too” the market’s organisers tell us and also flagged that “Theo’s Kitchen are a new Ruddington offering serving up hot pork cobs.“
‘Live’ music comes from ‘2 of Diamonds‘ – the acoustic duo are Rob Rayner and Sally Pearson who’ve 25 years’ experience working in the Performing Arts. Their sound is a huge variety of musical genres from the sixties to noughties and now; instrumental covers, jazz, jigs, jazz and classical pieces.
The White Horse on Church Street – the Village Market’s original venue – is also staging its usual smaller market on the same date – running from 9.00am to 11.30am.
There’s some extra parking available, as shown below. However, market days are very busy in Ruddington so residents are encouraged to walk into the village if they can, since spaces are rather limited in the centre.
For visitors, there’s a new NCT discounted Market Day travel ticket if you come to Ruddington by bus. Village Market organisers say: “We’re super excited to be partnering with Nottingham City Transport to offer 15% off adult and Grouprider tickets on Market Days. All people need to do is scroll down to the NCT Partners category in the Mobile Tickets section of the NCTX Buses app, choose your ticket, enter discount code RUDDMARKET, and you’re good to go!”
